Direct Action Tactical is proud to offer the following courses to all participants wishing to enhance their personal safety and proficiency with a firearm. Our open enrollment programs are held at the several venues including Palmyra Sportsman’s Association and New Holland Rifle & Pistol Club. We can bring the training to you! In fact there are significant benefits to hosting one of our courses. If you are the host agency or club, you will receive two free slots in the course for every ten paid participants. Basic Handgun – 1 Day – $250

Basic Handgun is designed as an entry-level course for new handgun owners. It is also a perfect class for current handgun owners who have never received formal training and are looking to build rock-solid fundamentals. Basic Handgun will equip the shooter with all the skills to safely handle, store, maintain and operate a handgun. Through lecture, guided discussion, dry manipulations, and live fire, participants will thoroughly cover each topic. In addition to ownership and basic handling topics, shooters will learn the fundamentals of handgun marksmanship. The entire afternoon will be spent on the range with direct, hands-on coaching by DAT’s instructors, who will work with you so that you are capable of putting rounds precisely where you want them to go.

Defensive Handgun – 2 Day – $400

Defensive Handgun is Direct Action Tactical’s core training curriculum for employing a handgun for defensive purposes. This course will provide a handgun owner with the necessary skills to employ that weapon’s system in defense of life. Defensive Handgun focuses on the tactical employment of the pistol in any environment. Training will include: firearm selection, equipment selection and considerations, defensive mindset, draw cycle and presentation, combat marksmanship, advanced weapons manipulation, use of cover, shooting on the move, engagements from contact to extended distances, multiple targets, moving targets, malfunction clearance, complete situational awareness, legal considerations, and law enforcement interaction.

Prerequisite: Completion of a D.A.T. Basic Firearms safety course or Comparable training as approved by D.A.T. Staff (military, law enforcement, NRA, other private training) or Classified competitive shooter in IDPA, USPSA, ICORE or SASS

Concealed Carry – 2 Day – $350

If you have chosen to exercise your right to defend yourself by carrying a firearm concealed then you owe it to yourself, your family, and the community to be proficient, safe, and trained in that endeavor. Concealed Carry will prepare you to do all these things. Our Concealed Carry Course focuses on the finer points of arming yourself with a concealed firearm and the proper mindset for safely carrying and deploying that firearm in a defensive encounter. Training topics include: firearm selection, equipment and clothing considerations, methods of concealed carry, defensive mindset, concealed draw, weapon manipulation, combat marksmanship, advanced weapons manipulation, use of cover, shooting on the move, engagements from contact to extended distances, legal considerations, and law enforcement interaction.

Prerequisite: Completion of a D.A.T. Basic Firearms safety course or Comparable training as approved by D.A.T. Staff (military, law enforcement, NRA, other private training) or Classified competitive shooter in IDPA, USPSA, ICORE or SASS

Advanced Defensive Handgun – 3 Day – $625

Advanced Defensive Handgun (ADH) is the continuation of our standard Defensive Handgun Course. We firmly believe that to be “Advanced,” a shooter needs to do nothing more than the “Basics” really well. ADH reinforces many of the tactics taught in Defensive Handgun such as; defensive mindset, draw cycle and presentation, combat marksmanship, advanced weapons manipulation, use of cover, shooting on the move, engagements from contact to extended distances, multiple targets, moving targets, malfunction clearance, complete situational awareness, legal considerations, and law enforcement interaction. Through the use of dynamic simulation drills ADH will also introduce participants to the following topics: use of a handgun from alternate positions, vehicle considerations, extreme close quarters, wounded / compromised ability handgun manipulation, weapons retention, and transitional use of force.

Prerequisite: Completion of a D.A.T. Defensive Handgun or Concealed Carry or Comparable training as approved by D.A.T. Staff (military, law enforcement, other private training) or Classified competitive shooter in IDPA (minimum Expert) or USPSA (minimum B)

Defensive Carbine – 2 Day – $425

The popularity of defensive carbines has exploded over the past few years. Whether you carry a rifle as part of your profession or plan to utilize a carbine as a tool in your defensive strategy, this course is for you. Training will focus on rifle & equipment selection, rifle set-up, zeroing, combat rifle marksmanship, firing positions, alternate firing positions, rifle manipulation, reloading the rifle, malfunction clearance, shooting from cover, and defensive strategies with the carbine.

Prerequisite: Completion of a D.A.T. Basic Firearms safety course or Comparable training as approved by D.A.T. Staff (military, law enforcement, NRA, other private training) or Classified competitive shooter in IDPA, USPSA, ICORE or SASS

Defensive Shotgun – 2 Day – $350

Defensive Shotgun is designed to prepare students to utilize a shotgun in a real-world defensive environment. As in our other core programs, Defensive Shotgun is designed to give a student a working base from which to utilize this particular defensive tool. The shotgun is a versatile, powerful, and proven weapon system that remains viable in today’s defensive environment. Training topics will include; weapons and equipment selection, shotgun set-up, ammunition selection, ballistic capabilities of various shotgun rounds, combative marksmanship principles, carry positions, presentations, loading & re-loading techniques, shooting on the move, shooting moving targets, multiple targets, target identification, secondary weapons transition, defensive mindset, and stress mitigation and management.

Prerequisite: Completion of a D.A.T. Basic Firearms safety course or Comparable training as approved by D.A.T. Staff (military, law enforcement, NRA, other private training) or Classified competitive shooter in IDPA, USPSA, ICORE, or SASS

Advanced Defensive Carbine – 3 Day – $625

Just as in Advanced Defensive Handgun, the Advanced Defensive Carbine Course will reinforce and build upon the skills of Defensive Carbine. All core skills are drilled and practiced to maintain a solid base of fundamental proficiency. In this course, the shooter will also integrate the defensive handgun alongside the defensive carbine as an integrated weapons system. Advanced topics will include: rifle to handgun transitions, carbine manipulation in confined spaces, using the carbine from and against vehicles, partner tactics, wounded/compromised ability manipulation, and low-light carbine tactics.
